International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Urbanism
Cities around the world stand at a turning point shaped by rapid urban growth, climate change, cultural shifts and social inequality. As cities expand, the need for inclusive, resilient and sustainable planning has become urgent.
The International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Urbanism brings together scholars, professionals and policy makers to discuss these challenges and share practical ideas for the future of cities. The discussions focus on balancing economic growth, technology and infrastructure while protecting heritage, urban ecology and the natural environment.
Odisha provides a strong setting for this conversation. With its rich cultural heritage, distinct climate conditions and growing urban centres, the state presents many opportunities and challenges in urban development.
The creation of the Odisha Urban Design Hub by the Housing and Urban Development Department reflects the state's interest in integrated planning, heritage conservation, climate resilience and community participation.
